The book “The Kurds in Iran: The Past, Present and Future” is a research work about the situation of Kurds in Iran
written by Karim Yildiz and Tanyel B. Taysi, and translated into Persian by Loghman Ghanbari.
📖 About the Book and Authors
This book was first published in 2007 by Pluto Press in London and is considered one of the first comprehensive reports on the Kurds of Iran. Karim Yildiz, one of the authors, is himself a Kurd and a former political refugee, and served as the executive director of the Kurdish Human Rights Project in London.

In this work, the authors provide an overview of the issues facing Kurds in Iran and how they are affected by geopolitical changes in neighboring countries. The chapters of the book include:

⚖️ Publication Status and the Translator’s Case
The Persian translation of this book was done by Loghman Ghanbari, who holds a PhD in Political Science. However, the Islamic Guidance Office did not issue a publication permit for this book.
Loghman Ghanbari was arrested in Farvardin 1403 (April 2024) by intelligence forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Sarpol-e Zahab. Among the charges against him was translating this very book and promoting “pan-Kurdism.” He was released after about 40 hours of interrogation and was later cleared of the charge of “contact with Israeli nationals.”
